2008 Goldstone Forum: Steven Levitt

Steve Levitt, Alvin Baum Professor of Economics and Director of the Becker Center on Price Theory at the University of Chicago. His book Freakonomics, which he co-authored with Stephen J. Dubner, spent more than two years on the New York Times best-seller list and has sold more than 3 million copies around the world, in more than 30 languages. Levitt has been awarded the John Bates Clark Medal, which recognizes the most influential economist in America under the age of 40. He was also named one of Time magazine's "100 People Who Shape Our World."

Levitt received his B.A. from Harvard University in 1989, his Ph.D. from M.I.T. in 1994, and has taught at Chicago since 1997.
