Field Experiments on Directed Giving: From Pilot(s) to Full Phase

Abstract: Little is known about the effectiveness of solicitations for specific causes within a charity. In this presentation, I discuss a series of field experiments with fundraising bodies at Texas A&M University that allow donors to direct some or all of their gifts. I give special attention to the crafting of field experiments, working with practitioner partners, and the importance of pilot studies.
