My research interests are contemporary political theory, urban studies, and memory studies. My current book manuscript, Building the Ethical State, examines the parallel design of the state alongside public spaces in New York City, through the particular mechanism of public-private nonprofit partnerships. Sites I explore include the World Trade Center memorial plaza, a bus depot in Harlem, and Freshkills Park.
